What is an Infrared Inspection?
Infrared Imaging, also know as Thermal Imaging, uses infrared technology to detect differences
in temperature.
An Infrared inspection combines a traditional (visual) home inspection, with
a thermal imaging scan. During this
process we investigate “suspicious” areas, paying special attention to the
warning signs detected in the infrared scan, to identify and confirm the
problem or problems that were indicated in the scan. These items include missing insulation, water leaks, roof leaks, electrical issues, and rodent infestation.
Keep in mind that Infrared technology is not a “magic
bullet”, and the changes in temperature can be subtle or dramatic. But when used in
conjunction with a traditional home inspection, this technology can help to
identify issues and concerns during the inspection process that would not be
able to be seen with the naked eye.
